WHAT IS A NUDGE ?

A nudge in Economics is any aspect of the choice architecture that alters people's behavior in a predictable way without forbidding any options or significantly changing their economic incentives. A nudge must be easy and cheap to avoid.

                                 -- Thaler & Sunstein (2008), 'Nudge'

A nudge theory suggests consumer behavior can be influenced by small suggestions and positive reinforcement.

BEHAVIORAL NUDGES AND CHARITABLE GIVING - A RESEARCH

Undertook a project on behavioral nudges and charitable giving during my summer vacations of high school. The terms "behavioral nudges" and "charitable giving" are related to each other and refer to the use of psychological tactics to persuade and motivate people to take part in charitable endeavors, impact human decision-making rather than being driven by rational reasoning.

Aimed to understand the various types of behavioral nudges which play an important role to encourage and increase the frequency and amount of charitable donations.

Research supported with statistical figures and graphs to systematically analyse the idea of behavioral nudges and their positive impact on decision making processes to increase long-term engagement with charitable organizations.

This research kept everyone moving and talking.
